Payment

We accept payment with all major credit and debit cards through PayPal. You do not have to set up an account with PayPal to use them to make payments with your credit card. We feel PayPal offers both customer and seller good levels of security, cover and peace of mind when carrying out transactions online. PayPal handles all your credit card and banking information and protects it through their own online security systems.

We also accept cheques and bank transfers by arrangement. International cheques will incur a bank processing fee and delay while being processed.

Deposits

A 20% non-refundable deposit will secure and reserve any items for up to three months. This deposit is non-refundable should you decide not to proceed with your order and covers the cost of any depreciation, storage, re-listing and clerical costs. Any other payments received will be returned should you decide not to proceed with your order.

If you would like to reserve an item or items let us know which items (brief description and SKU number) and we will edit the listings for you to make this possible. Once we have edited the listings you will see a further ‘make deposit’ button appear on the item page. Just click on the button and the item will be added to your shopping cart. When you have added all the items you want to reserve to your cart just checkout in the normal way.

After you have made your deposit you are free to make payments whenever you choose and for any amount you want through ‘My account‘.

Shipping

Buyers making multiple purchases will receive big postage discounts at checkout. Usually only paying postage charges for the heaviest item. This table shows our current postage rates as of March 2016:

All items are sent via fully tracked and insured postage services. The majority of our stock is based in France and is sent from there via La Poste. Some items may be dispatched from the U.K via Royal Mail, DHL or UPS.

We pack all items with special care and attention for their journeys all over the world currently having only suffered two breakages in many thousands of International sales. If items arrive broken we refund you in full.

All orders are sent out within 2 working days, 98% within 1 working day (larger orders or items may take a little longer to pack safely).

Items generally arrive with customers within 3-10 working days of dispatch, although on rare occasions it can take longer due to customs intervention. Premium services are available which bring average international delivery times down to 3-7 working days after dispatch. We provide a tracking number with your purchase but are unable to guarantee delivery in a certain time frame with any delivery service.

In some circumstances we can offer an overnight / same day delivery service within Western Europe via private courier at extra cost (For example – France to the UK from £250).

As with all purchases made internationally customers based outside of the European Union should be aware that they may be liable for import duties on their items as decreed by customs in your own country. Due to the variety of items we sell, the multitude of countries we ship to and their associated and varied international rules regarding the import of vintage and antique goods we cannot advise specifically on these duty charges. As a rough guide we can report that on average 1 in 100 international parcels seem to be charged an extra premium of 10-20% of the value of the item as an import duty. It is the customers responsibility to make their own investigations regarding these potential costs, and to cover those costs.

Refunds and Exchanges

Due to the difficulties of shopping online and not actually being able to hold and feel items we are happy to provide refunds for unwanted items that do not fit in quite as expected. Buyers will be responsible for return transit costs. Please contact us within 10 days of receipt through our contact form here to make a return.

In the event an item arrives damaged or broken beyond the description in the original listing please photograph any damaged packing and the item itself and contact us through our contact form here. In this case we will ask you to return the item but we will cover all return costs and refund you your full initial payment including postage (sometimes return may not be necessary and photos will suffice for a refund to be issued depending on courier insurance requirements).

Loans and rental

We have previously been happy to loan items for film shoots, TV shows, photo shoots, shop openings, weddings and corporate events. Terms are negotiable but we usually ask for full payment for the item and then refund 50% upon return of the item(s) to us within a year. Obviously items need to be returned in the condition they were sent out in. Customers will be responsible for all transit costs and any damage incurred whilst in use or in return transit.

Loyalty points and discounts

Every £20 you spend on products at EVE puts a point in your point bank. Each one of those points entitles you to a £1 discount off future purchases. The points you have accrued to date are displayed in your ‘My account‘ area. When you want to cash in your points on a future purchase select the option at checkout or just let us know and we will refund you the appropriate amount off your order. Points are not awarded for postage expenditure.

Postage discounts are automatically applied to multiple item orders at checkout. With most multiple item orders you will only pay postage on the single heaviest item.

Multiple platform pricing – getting the best deal

EVE operates over multiple platforms and sometimes items are priced a little differently to take into account fees and commission of third parties. It’s also quite a big job to correlate prices correctly between multiple sites and sometimes errors creep in or go unnoticed.

We should though be offering you the very best deal of all if you buy from us through this, our own website. If you notice any difference in marked prices between our other third party outlets and our own website please point them out to us at time of purchase and we will refund you any difference immediately.

Translation services

Website translation services are provided by Google Translate. We cannot guarantee their accuracy. We speak fluent English, French, German and a little Italian though so please feel free to get in touch in any of those languages with any queries.
