I am an English artist living in an ancient watermill situated in rural Normandy, France.

I trained at art school in England the late 70’s and early 80’s, firstly in Fine Art, and then in Textile Design. My work is a unique fusion of those two disciplines using a process that I have designed and developed myself over the last 20 years.

After art school I trained in psychological medicine and worked in that field for 32 years, as well as continuing to develop my art. I have always felt that art offers a powerful tool for accessing feelings—be they unconscious or just beneath the surface; so the two trainings have enhanced each others development and practice.

I have had work exhibited throughout the UK. My work was selected for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in 2015 and it sold at the Private View evening. I won a “Work of Excellence” award in 2016. I have enjoyed working with theatre companies, and won “Best Scenic Artist” and “Best Set Designer” awards for a production of the Mikado in 2011.

My work is in private collections throughout the world.

I can make commissioned pieces from photographs, and discussion about your memories of those places to develop an understanding of the story behind them. This enables me to encapsulate the emotions behind the image and personalise the work.
