Studio 1

Sitting opposite the church in sleepy Perriers en Beauficel (translates as pears on a string) is Studio 1. Once upon a time the village post office, bar, cafe, and shop, this old photo shows the original owner, her car and the old shop facade.

Now renovated to a simple but practical and comfy degree, we invite you to stay and get away from the hustle and bustle at our first self contained gite in Normandy, for one night or many. 

Accommodation

The entryway leads through to the living room where you will also find your office space. The kitchen has all the normal appliances. There is a toilet downstairs.

Upstairs you will find two bedrooms. Both have two single beds which can be pushed together.The shower room has a second toilet

A cot is available and the settee downstairs converts into a double bed. Things will be a bit tight though with more than four adults staying!

Locally

Five minutes to the North is the village of Gathemo where you will find a bar and restaurant and what we consider to be one of the best boulangeries we have discovered in Normandy. The nearest large town of Vire is another 15 minutes drive to the North.

Ten minutes down the valley to the south is Cherence-le-Roussel where we operate from. Here you will also find a bar and pizzeria.

Local history

The whole of Normandy is littered with reminders of wartimes past. There is plenty to do for students of wartime history. This photo depicts the view from the front of Studio 1 towards the end of World War 2. A visit to the various landing beaches and museums is recommended

Another must pilgrimage while you are in the area is Mont St Michel. We are centrally placed between these popular tourist destinations
