Corner shelves have been a practical solution for maximizing space in homes for centuries, particularly in smaller dwellings or rooms where wall space is limited. Their design allows them to fit snugly into corners, providing display or storage without protruding into the main living area. Wooden corner shelves, especially those with turned elements, were popular during various periods, including the Victorian era and into the mid-20th century, often crafted from hardwoods like oak or pine.
This particular shelf, with its three tiers and decorative turned spindles, likely served as a display unit for decorative items, plants, or books. The wear and tear visible suggest it has been used and appreciated, adding to its vintage charm. Such pieces are often found in European markets, reflecting a tradition of functional yet aesthetically pleasing home furnishings.

See more notes on shipping discounts below.
PACKAGING – Where possible we use recycled or recyclable packaging. Sometimes this is not possible; For example paper tape will not stand up to the rigours of international shipping. * Note. Postage from France falls into bands. Up to 2kg is a reasonable cost but anything over 2kg gets expensive to send internationally. The bands are 2-5kg, 5-10kg, 10-20kg and 20-30kg. So when purchasing multiple orders we can sometimes make savings over and above automatic postage discounts applied at checkout. For example; If you buy 4 items weighing 2kg each (allowing 2kg for packaging) we can pack those items into a 10kg package. Automatic discounts applied at checkout are usually pretty close but if you are considering multiple purchases and especially from both of our shops get in touch with details of the items you are considering buying and we will let you know if we can do any better on postage.

The large majority of our stock appears on our website but we always have more listing to do! There is a chance that we may have different items and quantities than those that are listed here immediately available from stock.
We also keep tabs on a lot of outlets in our local areas and also have quite a network of colleagues throughout Western Europe, so we may be able to help source your special requirements. If you would like us to keep an eye out for something or source an item just let us know what you are after and your budget and we will let you know promptly if we can help.
We operate a love it, or return it, no quibble, full refund policy. We appreciate that things sometimes do not fit in or suit quite as expected, and as a result we are happy to provide refunds due to the very nature of online shopping. Buyers will be responsible for return transit costs. To qualify simply let us know you wish to return an item within thirty days of receipt.
Returns are expensive for us and for you! They are rarely requested but when they are it is nearly always as a result of customers not checking item descriptions, sizes or all photos in a listing. Please carefully check item descriptions and photos before purchasing any items from us to avoid any disappointment.
We can only create lay-away accounts or take 20% reservation deposits from customers on our website. Etsy and Ebay do not have the facilty to do this easily.
We are surprised by the high number of customers who fail to return to complete their purchase even after they have paid a 20% deposit. Please make sure you really want the item before enquiring about making a deposit. Items can be reserved for three months after a 20% non-fundable deposit has been made.
Get in touch if you would like to make a 20% NON-REFUNDABLE reservation payment.
